there’s something chasing me!
wait, there isn’t? then why am I running? Today marks the first day of my 12 week training for Nike’s Women Half Marathon. I have a few things going on right now; I just started a new project at work, school started about two weeks ago, I’m in the midst of studying for the PMP exam, and now I have to start training to for this half marathon. Nothing I haven’t done before so put on your big girl panties and get to it. I’ll try to make a weekly post on my progress while I train for my very first half marathon, here we go! You got this…
… just take it one step at a time.
Literally. I’ve been researching different training programs online but ultimately I decided to just follow the training plan that Nike provides. I’m trying to figure out the best time to run, I don’t feel comfortable running at night and by the time I get out of work it’s already super dark. I was thinking of waking up in the morning but it’s dark then too! Ok, maybe it’s not that dark but you know, sometimes the sheets just stick to you like a Mexican burrito? you know what I’m talking about right? I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s been a victim of this. The plan is to try to run outside as much as I can but if all things fail there’s always the treadmill right?
With that said, my intentions were to wake up early and do my 3 mile run but that didn’t happen. So I guess I’ll be going to the gym after work to do it then. I did however run a little over 3 miles on Saturday with Kenne and then again on Sunday with Dave. So let’s just say I got an early start ;)
Questions for my running friends:
– would you eat before a morning run?
– any advice for outside running in the winter?
– do you recommend any running gear/gadgets?
