One of my passions in life is traveling, I’m on a mission to see the world! I’ve always joked that I could totally be that person with a fanny pack, camera strapped around their neck, with a map trying to figure out where they’re going next! I don’t mind being that annoying tourist taking hundreds of pictures and making silly poses… you know, like the infamous “holding” pose at the leaning Tower of Pisa – in fact, I have this picture {first picture above… don’t judge me}.
traveling philosophy
When I travel I want to be able to enjoy different aspects of wherever I am. I’ve broken it down to the following three categories, so if I’m able to hit all three than it’s a good trip in my book.
1. Something adventurous – I’m an adrenaline junkie so this includes things like when I went sky diving in Vegas, hiking in Vermont, or zip lining in Mexico!
2. Experience the culture – this could be anything like seeing a live jazz performance in Chicago, going to phantom of the opera in New York, or visiting the capital building in New Hampshire.
3. Enjoy the night life – day time activities wear me out but you can’t forget about night-time fun so a nice lounge, a comedy show, or even a night-time stroll in the city works for me.
I like to schedule a vacation at least once a year. However, more often than not, I get to itch my travel bug with small weekend get-aways from personal or work related commitments (e.g. weddings, training, etc.).
